Inspection Procedure
- CHECK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
- Check that the brake warning light comes on when the parking brake is applied and goes off when it is released.
OK:
The brake warning light operates as specified above.
OK: Go to step 3
NG: Go to next step
- Check that the brake warning light comes on when the parking brake is applied and goes off when it is released.
- INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH
- Remove the parking brake switch.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition Switch connector - Switch body Shaft is not pressed Below 1 Ω Switch connector - Switch body Shaft is pressed 10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPLACE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY - PARKING BRAKE SWITCH)
- Disconnect the K46 display connector.
- Disconnect the A31 switch connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Specified Condition K46-23 (PKB) - A31-1 Below 1 Ω K46-23 (PKB) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
