Floor Shift Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the floor shift with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 8.3 N*m (85 kgf*cm, 73 in.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the 2 connectors to the floor shift.
    3. Connect the 6 clamps.

  2. CONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily tighten the floor shift gear shifting rod with the nut.

      HINT:

      The rod is tightened to a torque specification in the "ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION" procedure.

  3. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  ADJUSTMENT  ) 
  4. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR NO. 1 HEAT INSULATOR (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the front exhaust pipe (see INSTALLATION ).
  6. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  7. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX PLATE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  13. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  14. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  15. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  17. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  18. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
