On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT CLOCK ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)
    1. Disconnect the E3 connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E3-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
E3-10 (ACC) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V
Engine switch on (ACC) 10 to 14 V
E3-11 (ILL+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG), light control switch OFF Below 1 V
Engine switch on (IG), light control switch TAIL/HEAD 10 to 14 V

      HINT:

If the value is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E3-18 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      HINT:

If the value is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    4. Reconnect the E3 connector.
    5. Check the waveform according to the illustration shown in below.

      OK

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
E3-17 (ILL-) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Pulse generation (See  1waveform)

      HINT:

If the result is not as specified, replace the heater control panel because the clock assembly does not supplied independently.

        ITEM CONDITION CHART

        Item Condition
        Tool setting 2 V/DIV, 1 ms./DIV
Vehicle condition Turn the engine switch on (IG), light control switch TAIL/HEAD

        HINT:

Duty ratio changes as the illumination becomes darker (the period "A" shown in the illustration becomes longer).

  2. INSPECT CLOCK ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)
    1. Disconnect the E18 connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E18-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
E18-2 (ACC) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V
Engine switch on (ACC) 10 to 14 V
E18-6 (ILL+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG), light control switch OFF Below 1 V

      HINT:

If the value is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E18-8 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      HINT:

If the value is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    4. Reconnect the E18 connector.
    5. Check the waveform according to the illustration shown in below.

      OK

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Taster Connection Condition Specified Condition
E18-7 (ILL-) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Pulse generation (See  1waveform)

      HINT:

Because the clock assembly does not supplied independently, if the result is not as specified, replace the multi-display.

      HINT:

If the result is not as specified, replace the multi-display because the clock assembly does not supplied independently.
