On-Vehicle Inspection
- INSPECT CLOCK ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)
- Disconnect the E3 connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition E3-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V E3-10 (ACC) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V Engine switch on (ACC) 10 to 14 V E3-11 (ILL+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG), light control switch OFF Below 1 V Engine switch on (IG), light control switch TAIL/HEAD 10 to 14 V HINT:
If the value is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition E3-18 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω HINT:
If the value is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.
- Reconnect the E3 connector.
- Check the waveform according to the illustration shown in below.
OK
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition E3-17 (ILL-) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Pulse generation (See 1waveform) HINT:
If the result is not as specified, replace the heater control panel because the clock assembly does not supplied independently.
- Waveform (Reference): Using oscilloscope:ITEM CONDITION CHART
Item Condition Tool setting 2 V/DIV, 1 ms./DIV Vehicle condition Turn the engine switch on (IG), light control switch TAIL/HEAD HINT:
Duty ratio changes as the illumination becomes darker (the period "A" shown in the illustration becomes longer).
