Front Seat Assembly: Removal

  1. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP  (See REMOVAL )
  2. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat outer track bracket cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat inner track bracket cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT REAR OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the front seat rear outer track bracket cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT REAR INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the front seat rear inner track bracket cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to its rearmost position.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts on the front seat track bracket.
    3. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the position farthest forward.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear seat track bracket.
    5. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
      CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent the airbag and seat belt pretensioner from deploying (See AIRBAG SYSTEM ).
    6. Disconnect the connectors under the seat. Then remove the front seat assembly.
