Inspection Procedure

1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

2. Disconnect the center airbag sensor E6 and J/B DE connectors.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance 

   TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION
   
   

   Tester Connection (Symbols)	Condition	Specified Condition
   E6-18 (GSW) - DE-8 (GSW)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   DE-8 (GSW) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to Next Step 

1. Reconnect the center airbag sensor E6 and J/B DE connectors.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard voltage 

   TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION
   
   

   Tester Connection (Symbols)	Condition	Specified Condition
   DE-8 (GSW) - Body ground	Engine switch on (IG)	4.5 to 5.5 V

NG: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

OK: REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR
