Exhaust Manifold: Replacement
- REMOVE ENGINE ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- Bank 1 sensor 1, bank 2 sensor 1: REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
- REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR NO.1
- Remove the 4 bolts and insulator.
- REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR NO.2
- Remove the 4 bolts and insulator.
- REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSY RH
- Remove the 8 nuts, manifold and gasket.
- REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSY LH
- Remove the 8 nuts, manifold and gasket.
- INSPECT EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSY RH
- Using a precision straight edge and feeler gauge, measure the exhaust manifold's cylinder head contact surface for warpage.
Maximum warpage: 0.50 mm (0.0197 in.)
If the warpage is greater than the maximum, replace the manifold.
- Using a precision straight edge and feeler gauge, measure the exhaust manifold's cylinder head contact surface for warpage.
- INSPECT EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSY LH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for RH side.
- INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSY LH
- Place a new gasket on the cylinder head with the white mark facing the manifold side.NOTE: Be careful of the installation direction.
- Install the exhaust manifold with the 8 nuts. Uniformly tighten the nuts in several passes.
Torque: 44 N.m (449 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)
- Place a new gasket on the cylinder head with the white mark facing the manifold side.
- INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for LH side.
- INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR NO.2
- Install the insulator with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)
- Install the insulator with the 4 bolts.
- INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR NO.1
- Install the insulator with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)
- Install the insulator with the 4 bolts.
- Bank 1 sensor 1, bank 2 sensor 1:
INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
Torque: 44 N.m (449 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)
