Inspection Procedure

  1. READ DATA LIST (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY) 
    1. Check DATA LIST for proper functioning of the outer rear view mirror.

      Driver side J/B (driver side J/B ECU):

      OK: 

      On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to  Fig 1 . 

    1. NG: Go to step   2 
    2. OK: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK 
  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR MASTER SWITCH AND MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH) 
    1. Select L or R on the mirror master switch.
    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      Mirror master switch 

      MIRROR MASTER SWITCH

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      8 (MSW) - 9 (E) L 100 ohms
      8 (MSW) - 9 (E) R Below 1 ohms
      8 (MSW) - 9 (E) OFF 10 k ohms or higher

      Mirror control switch 

      MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      7 (M+) - 9 (E) UP Approx. 100 ohms
      7 (M+) - 9 (E) RIGHT 250 ohms
      7 (M+) - 9 (E) DOWN 470 ohms
      7 (M+) - 9 (E) LEFT 800 ohms
      7 (M+) - 9 (E) OFF 10 k ohms or higher

    1. NG: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR MASTER SWITCH AND MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH) - DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the R4 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR MASTER SWITCH AND MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH) - DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      R4-7 (M+) - D5-11 (M+) Below 1 ohms
      R4-8 (MSW) - D5-10 (MSW) Below 1 ohms
      R4-9 (E) - D5-7 (R/E) Below 1 ohms

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU)
