DTC P2121: Throttle / Pedal Position Sensor / Switch "D" Circuit Range / Performance: Wiring Diagram

Refer to DTC P2120  .

HINT:

• Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine conditions when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
• This DTC relates to the APP sensor.

1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2121) 
   1. Connect the intelligent tester to the CAN VIM. Then connect the CAN VIM to the DLC3.
   2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
   3. Turn the tester ON.
   4. Enter the following menus: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
   5. Read DTCs.

   P2121 and other DTCs	B

   HINT:

   If any DTCs other than P2121 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

   B: GO TO DTC CHART 

   A: Go to next step 

2. REPLACE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY 
   1. Replace accelerator pedal assembly (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
3. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P2121) 
   1. Connect the intelligent tester to the CAN VIM. Then connect the CAN VIM to the DLC3.
   2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
   3. Turn the tester.
   4. Clear DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
   5. Allow the engine to idle for a minute.
   6. Rev up the engine several times.
   7. Enter the following menus: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
   8. Read DTCs.

   B: CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

   A: REPLACE ECM
