Steering Sensor: Removal

  1. PRECAUTION 
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  3. REMOVE PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
    NOTE: When reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal after installing the steering sensor, check that the front tires and steering wheel are kept aligned straight ahead before and after connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
  4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER NO.2 LOWER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER NO.3 LOWER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    For 3GR-FSE (See REMOVAL )

    For 3UZ-FE (See REMOVAL )

  8. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    For 3GR-FSE (See REMOVAL )

    For 3UZ-FE (See REMOVAL )

  9. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH STEERING SENSOR (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  10. REMOVE STEERING SENSOR 
    1. Disengage the claws and remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable sub-assembly with steering sensor.
