Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO +B (DLC3 SUB BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the DLC3 sub bus line connector (J40) from the CAN J/C.
      NOTE:
      • Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 2.

      Standard:

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE DLC3 SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L) 
    2. OK: Go to next step.

  2. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the DLC3 sub bus line connector (J40) to the CAN J/C.
    1. NEXT: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO +B (SKID CONTROL ECU SUB BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU sub bus line connector (J41) from the CAN J/C.
      NOTE:
      • Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 5.

      Standard:

    1. OK: Go to step   10 
    2. NG: Go to next step.

  4. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the skid control ECU sub bus line connector (J41) to the CAN J/C.
    1. NEXT: Go to next step. 
  5. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO +B (YAW RATE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor sub bus line connector (J43) from the CAN J/C.
      NOTE:
      • Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 8.

      Standard:

    1. OK: Go to step   12 
    2. NG: Go to next step.

  6. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the yaw rate sensor sub bus line connector (J43) to the CAN J/C.
    1. NEXT: Go to next step. 
  7. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO +B (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the steering angle sensor sub bus line connector (J42) from the CAN J/C.
      NOTE:
      • Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 11.

      Standard:

    1. OK: Go to step   14 . 
    2. NG: Go to next step.

  8. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the steering angle sensor sub bus line connector (J42) to the CAN J/C.
    1. NEXT: Go to next step. 
  9. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO +B (ECM MAIN BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector (E8).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 13.

      Standard:

    1. OK: REPLACE ECM (SEE  ECM (2UZ-FE)  ) 
    2. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE ECM MAIN BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)

  10. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the skid control ECU sub bus line connector (J41) to the CAN J/C.
    1. NEXT: Go to next step. 
  11. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO +B (SKID CONTROL ECU SUB BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector (S37).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 15.

      Standard:

    1. OK: REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID (SEE  OVERHAUL  ) 
    2. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)

  12. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the yaw rate sensor sub bus line connector (J43) to the CAN J/C.
    1. NEXT: Go to next step. 
  13. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO +B (YAW RATE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector (Y1).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 17.

      Standard:

    1. OK: REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR (SEE  YAW RATE SENSOR  ) 
    2. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)

  14. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the steering angle sensor sub bus line connector (J42) to the CAN J/C.
    1. NEXT: Go to next step. 
  15. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO +B (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector (S12).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 19.

      Standard:

    1. OK: REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR (SEE  STEERING SENSOR  ) 
    2. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
