Rear Spoiler: Installation
HINT:
- When installing the spoiler, heat the vehicle body and spoiler using a heat light.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS
).
Heating temperature
HEATING TEMPERATUREItem Temperature Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F) Spoiler 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F) NOTE: Do not heat the body and spoiler excessively.- INSTALL REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Clean the vehicle body surface.
- Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
- Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.
- Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
- If reusing the spoiler:
Clean the spoiler.
- Using a heat light, heat the spoiler.
- Remove the double-sided tape from the spoiler.
- Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
- Apply new double-sided tape to the spoiler.
- Install the spoiler.
- Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and spoiler.
- Remove the peeling paper from the face of the spoiler.
HINT:
After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.
- Install the spoiler with the 4 nuts and clip.
- Clean the vehicle body surface.
