Ignition Coil: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head.

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the MAF meter connector.
    2. Disconnect the clamp from the air cleaner.

    3. Disconnect the VSV for EVAP.

    4. Disconnect the 4 clamps.
    5. Remove the hose clamp and air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose.

  8. REMOVE IGNITION COIL 
    1. Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps.

    2. Disconnect the 6 ignition coil connectors.
    3. Remove the 6 bolts and 6 ignition coils.
