Cold Start Injector: Removal

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE (see   1  ) 
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait for least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  4. DISCONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE (see   17  ) 
  5. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER (see   5  ) 
  6. REMOVE COLD START INJECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the cold start injector connector.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts, gasket, cold start injector from the surge tank.
      NOTE: Do not fold or bend the hose.
