Inspection Procedure

READ DATA LIST (ODO/TRIP SWITCH, TRIP RESET SWITCH)
1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the ODO/TRIP switch and TRIP RESET switch.
  Combination meter assy:

  OK: ON (switch is pressed) is displayed on the tester.
1. NG: Go to step 2
2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See COMBINATION METER ASSY )

INSPECT TRIP SWITCH

Remove the trip switch.

Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard:

TRIP SWITCH

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
1 - 3	ODO/TRIP switch is pressed	Below 1 ohms
2 - 3	TRIP RESET switch is pressed	Below 1 ohms

NG: REPLACE TRIP SWITCH
OK: Go to next step.

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TRIP SWITCH - COMBINATION METER ASSY)

Disconnect the C8 meter connector.
Disconnect the T14 switch connector.

Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard:

TRIP SWITCH - COMBINATION METER ASSY

Tester Connection	Specified Condition
C8-7 (A/B) - T14-1	Below 1 ohms
C8-8 (REST) - T14-2	Below 1 ohms
C8-10 (SE) - T14-3	Below 1 ohms

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See COMBINATION METER ASSY )
