Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT FUSE (AM1, MPX-IG)
- Remove the AM1 and MPX-IG fuses from the driver side J/B.
- Measure the resistance of the fuses.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPLACE FUSE
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT RELAY (Marking: IG1)
- Remove the IG1 relay from the driver side J/B.
- Measure the resistance of the relay.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition 3 - 5 10 k ohms or higher 3 - 5 Below 1 ohms (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)
- NG: REPLACE RELAY
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH ASSY
- Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition 2 (AM1) - 4 (IG1) LOCK 10 k ohms or higher 2 (AM1) - 4 (IG1) ON Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH ASSY
- OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the resistance of the switch.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IGNITION SWITCH ASSY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the 118 switch connector.
- Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition 118-2 (AM1) - Body ground 10 to 14 V 118-4 (IG1) - Body ground Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to next step.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU ASSY - BATTERY)
- Disconnect the T7 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition 17-24 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
