Front Power Seat Control System: Inspection

  1. w/Memory: INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH 
    1. Check the resistance between the terminals when each switch is operated.

      Standard:

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

  2. w/o Memory: INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH 
    1. Check the resistance between the terminals when each switch is operated.

      Standard: 

      Slide switch

      Front vertical switch

      Lifter switch

      Reclining switch

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

  3. INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH 
    1. Check the resistance between the terminals when each switch is operated.

      Standard: 

      Slide switch

      Reclining switch

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

  4. INSPECT POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSY (LUMBAR SUPPORT) 
    1. Check the resistance between the terminals when the switch is operated.

      Standard:

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  5. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSY 
    1. Inspect operation of the slide motor.
      1. Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

        Standard: 

        MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFICATION

        Measurement Condition Operational Direction
        Battery positive (+) --> 1 Clockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 2
        Battery positive (+) --> 2 Counterclockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the slide motor.

    2. Only driver side:

      Inspect operation of the vertical motor.

      1. Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the vertical motor connector terminals.

        Standard: 

        MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFICATION

        Measurement Condition Operational Direction
        Battery positive (+) --> 1 Clockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 2
        Battery positive (+) --> 2 Counterclockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the vertical motor.

    3. Only driver side: Inspect operation of the lifter motor.
      1. Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the lifter motor connector terminals.

        Standard: 

        MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFICATION

        Measurement Condition Operational Direction
        Battery positive (+) --> 1 Clockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 2
        Battery positive (+) --> 2 Counterclockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the lifter motor.

    4. Inspect operation of the reclining motor.
      1. Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the reclining motor connector terminals.

        Standard: 

        MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFICATION

        Measurement Condition Operational Direction
        Battery positive (+) --> 1 Clockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 2
        Battery positive (+) --> 2 Counterclockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the reclining motor.

  6. w/Lumbar support: INSPECT LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSY 
    1. Inspect operation of the lumbar support adjuster motor.
      1. Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the lumbar support adjuster motor connector terminals.

        Standard: 

        MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFICATION

        Measurement Condition Operational Direction
        Battery positive (+) --> 1 Clockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 2
        Battery positive (+) --> 2 Counterclockwise
        Battery negative (-) --> 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the adjuster motor.

  7. INSPECT RELAY (IG1) 
    1. Check the resistance of the IG1 relay.

      Standard:

      If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.
