Power Door Lock Control System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY LH 
    1. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the door lock motor.

      Standard:

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    2. Inspect the resistance of the position switch.

      Standard: 

      DOOR LOCK RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (LH)

      Terminal No. Door Lock Position Specified Condition
      7 - 8 Lock 10 kΩ or higher
      Unlock Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    3. Inspect the resistance of the door lock and unlock switch.

      Standard: 

    DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (LH)

    Terminal No. Door Lock Position Specified Condition
    7 - 9 Lock Below 1 Ω
    7-9, 7 - 10 OFF -
    7 - 10 Unlock Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY RH 
    1. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the door lock motor.

      Standard:

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock and unlock switch assy.

    2. Inspect the resistance of the position switch.

      Standard: 

      DOOR LOCK RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (RH)

      Terminal No. Door Lock Position Specified Condition
      7-8 Lock 10 kΩ or higher
      Unlock Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    3. Inspect the resistance of the door lock and unlock switch.

      Standard: 

    DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (RH)

    Terminal No. Door Lock Position Specified Condition
    6 - 8 Lock Below 1 Ω
    5 - 8, 6 - 8 OFF -
    5 - 8 Unlock Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

  3. INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSY LH 
    1. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the door lock motor.

      Standard:

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    2. Inspect the resistance of the position switch.

      Standard: 

    REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (LH)

    Terminal No. Door Lock Position Specified Condition
    1 - 4 Lock 10 kΩ or higher
    Unlock Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

  4. INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSY RH 
    1. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the door lock motor.

      Standard:

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    2. Inspect the resistance of the position switch.

      Standard: 

    REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (RH)

    Terminal No. Door Lock Position Specified Condition
    1 - 4 Lock 10 kΩ or higher
    Unlock Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

  5. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/O CLOSER) 
    1. Check operation of the door lock.
      1. Using a screwdriver, push the latch in order to put the back door lock in the locked condition (full-latch position).
      2. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 3 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 1. Then, check operation of the latch.

        Standard: The latch turns to the open-latch position 

        If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

      3. Inspect motor operation when battery voltage is applied to the terminals.

      Standard:

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    2. Check the back door courtesy switch resistance.
      1. Check the resistance between the terminals of the courtesy switch.

      Standard: 

    BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (W/O CLOSER)

    Door Lock Latch Position Terminal No. Specified Condition
    Open-latch position 5 - 6 Below 1 Ω
    Full-latch position 10 kΩ or higher

    If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

  6. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY (W/ CLOSER) 
    1. Check operation of the door lock.
      1. Using a screwdriver, push the latch in order to put the back door lock in the locked condition (full-latch position).
      2. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 2. Then, check operation of the latch.

        Standard: The latch turns to the open-latch position

      3. Inspect motor operation when battery voltage is applied to the terminals.

      Standard: 

      If operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    2. Check the back door courtesy switch resistance.
      1. Check the resistance between the terminals of the courtesy switch.

      Standard: 

      BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Door Lock Latch Position Terminal No. Specified Condition
      Open-latch position, Half-latch position 3 - 4 Below 1 Ω
      Full-latch position, Over-latch position 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    3. Check the back door latch switch resistance.
      1. Check the resistance between the terminals of the latch switch.

      Standard: 

      BACK DOOR LATCH SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Door Lock Latch Position Terminal No. Specified Condition
      Open-latch position, Over-latch position 4 - 5 Below 1 Ω
      Half-latch position, Full-latch position 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    4. Check the position switch resistance.
      1. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to connector terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to connector terminal 2.

      Standard: 

    POSITION SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Door Lock Latch Position Terminal No. Specified Condition
    Any position other than motor stop position (Motor in operation) 4 - 6 Below 1 Ω
    Motor stop position (Gear in original position) 10 kΩ or higher

    If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

  7. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

    POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 - 5 Lock Below 1 Ω
    1 - 5, 1 - 8 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
    1 - 8 Unlock Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  8. INSPECT DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

    DOOR CONTROL SWITCH

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    3 - 6 Lock Below 1 Ω
    3 - 5, 3 - 6 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
    3 - 5 Unlock Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.
