    2. Check the continuity between terminal 2 (DIST) and 4 (ECC) of steering pad switch assy connector when distance control switch is operated.

    Standard:

TERMINAL 2 (DIST) AND 4 (ECC) OF STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSY CONNECTOR

    Switch position Specified condition
Distance control switch is ON Below 1 Ω
Distance control switch is OFF 10 kΩ or higher

    HINT:

When a malfunction is found on the distance control switch, replace the steering pad switch assy.

    1. NG: REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSY
    2. OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSY)
    1. Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the distance control ECU and the steering pad switch assy (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
    2. OK: Go to next step
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSY - BODY GROUND)
    1. Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the steering pad switch assy and body ground (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
    2. OK: Go to next step
  4. INSPECT DISTANCE CONTROL ECU ASSY
    1. Remove the distance control ECU with connector.
    2. Ignition switch ON.
    3. Measure the voltage between terminal MODE (D2-16) of the distance control ECU and body ground, when distance control switch is operated.
