Generator ASSY (3MZ-FE): Replacement

DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE NO. 3 (BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL)
REMOVE GENERATOR ASSY
1. Remove the 2 wire harness clamps.
2. Disconnect the generator connector.
3. Open the terminal cap.
4. Remove the nut, then disconnect the generator wire.

5. Loosen bolts A and B.
6. Loosen bolt C to lessen the tension of the V-ribbed belt No.1.

7. Remove bolts A and B, then remove the generator.

8. Remove the bolt, then remove the wiring harness clamp bracket.

INSTALL GENERATOR ASSY
1. Install the wiring harness clamp bracket with the bolt.
  1. Torque: 8.4 N.m (86 kgf.cm, 74 in..lbf)
2. Temporarily install the generator with bolts A and B.

3. Adjust the V-ribbed belt No. 1 tension by tightening bolt C (see ENGINE (3MZ-FE) ).
4. Tighten bolts A and B.
  1. Torque:
  2. 18 N.m (180 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) for bolt A
  3. 58 N.m (591 kgf.cm, 43 ft.lbf) for bolt B
5. Install the generator wire with the nut.
  1. Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
6. Connect the generator connector.
7. Install the wire harness clamp.

INSPECT DRIVE BELT (See ENGINE (3MZ-FE) )
CONNECT ENGINE WIRE NO. 3 (BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL)
1. Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in..lbf)
