Fuel Pump: Removal

  1. Remove fuel suction with pump & gauge tube assembly. See FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP & GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY .
  2. Remove tube joint clip and pull out vapor pressure sensor. See Fig 1.
  3. Disconnect fuel sender gauge connector. Unlock fuel sender gauge and slide to remove. See Fig 2.
  4. Using a screwdriver, disconnect 4 snap claws from claw holes. DO NOT damage sub tank. Remove fuel pump sub tank. See Fig 3.
  5. Disconnect fuel pump connector. See Fig 4.
  6. Using a small screwdriver, disconnect 4 claws from claw holes. Remove fuel pump with filter. See Fig 5. Remove fuel pump "O"ring and spacer from fuel pump.
  7. Using a small screwdriver, pry out clip and pull out fuel pump filter from fuel pump. See Fig 6.
