Section 294 (Rear Axle Shaft): Reassembly

INSTALL REAR AXLE BEARING
Using SST and a press, install a new bearing to the bearing case.
1. SST 09950-60020 (09951-00890)

INSTALL BEARING CASE
Position the backing plate on the bearing case and using a press and 2 socket wrenches, install the serration bolts.

INSTALL OUTER OIL SEAL
1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new oil seal.
  1. SST 09950-60020 (09951-00810), 09950-70010 (09951-07100)
2. Coat MP grease to the oil seal lip.
INSTALL OIL DEFLECTOR AND GASKET
Position a new gasket on the axle shaft and install a washer and nut to a new hub bolt, as shown in Fig 4 , and install the hub bolt by torquing the nut.

INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT TO BACKING PLATE
1. Install the backing plate, plate washer and bearing retainer on the rear axle shaft.

2. Using SST and a press, install the rear axle shaft into the backing plate.
  1. SST 09631-12090, 09950-60020 (09951-01030)
INSTALL SNAP RING TO AXLE SHAFT
Using a snap ring expander, install a new snap ring.
INSTALL ABS SPEED SENSOR ROTOR AND BEARING RETAINER (DIFFERENTIAL SIDE)
Using SST and a press, install a new ABS speed sensor rotor and bearing retainer.
1. SST 09631-12090, 09950-60020 (09951-01030)
2. Standard length: 170.7 +/- 1.0 mm (6.720 +/- 0.039 in.)
