Inspection Procedure

  1. FUNCTION CHECK 
    1. Check that the driver's seat position memory functions normally.
    1. NG: GO TO FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK (MEMORY FUNCTION) 
    1. Check whether the memory operation is properly carried out, the buzzer sounds when the door mirror position has memorized, and the mirror facing direction is memorized.
      NOTE:
      • If the SET, M1 and M2 switches are pressed simultaneously, the mirror facing direction is not memorized. 
      • After the operation has failed, the mirror facing direction is not memorized unless the SET switch is once turned off. 
      • The mirror facing direction is not memorized while the mirror is operated manually. 
    1. OK: SYSTEM OK 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  3. USE LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. NO: Go to step   5 
    2. YES: Go to next step. 
  4. READ VALUE OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Using the hand-held tester, check the driving position memory switch condition by the data monitor.

      Standard: 

      Driver seat ECU

      HINT:

      • In case of the driver's side, proceed to OK-A
      • In case of the passenger's side, proceed to OK-B
    1. NG: REPLACE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH 
    2. OK-A: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    3. OK-B: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    4. OK: Go to next step. 
  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SEAT MEMORY SWITCH - DOOR ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the seat memory switch and door ECU connectors.
    2. Check the continuity between each terminal of the seat memory switch vehicle's side connector and the door ECU vehicle's side connector (See TERMINALS OF ECU ).

      Standard:

      HINT:

      • In case of the driver's side wire harness, proceed to OK-A.
      • In case of the passenger's side wire harness, proceed to OK-B.

    1. OK-A: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK-B: CHECK AND REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT RH (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    3. OK: Go to next step. 

      REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
