How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

The intelligent tester can be used in steps  3,  4,  6,  8,  10, and  11.

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Confirm problem symptoms (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).
  3. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check for DTC output.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      Multiplex communication DTC is not output. A
      Multiplex communication DTC is output. B

    B: CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT 

    A: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check for DTC output.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication DTC is not output. A
      CAN communication DTC is output. B

    B: CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT 

    A: Go to Next Step 

  5. WARNING LIGHT CHECK 
  6. CHECK DTC (Present and Past DTCs) 
    1. Check for DTC output.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output. A
      DTC is not output. B

    B: PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    A: Go to Next Step 

  7. DTC CHART 
  8. CIRCUIT INSPECTION 
  9. REPAIR 
  10. CLEAR DTC (Present and Past DTCs) 
  11. CHECK DTC (Present and Past DTCs) 
    1. Check for DTC output.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output. A
      DTC is output. B

    B:  Go to step  7

    A: Go to Next Step 

  12. CONFIRMATION TEST
