Light Control Rheostat: Inspection

  1. INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT 
    1. Remove the light control rheostat.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R6-1 (E) - R6-7 (RV) Rheostat knob is in the MIN. position. Approx. 0 Ω
      R6-1 (E) - R6-7 (RV) Rheostat knob is between the MIN. and MAX. position. 8 to 12 kΩ
      R6-1 (E) - R6-4 (RSET) ODO/TRIP switch is not pressed. 10 kΩ or higher
      ODO/TRIP switch is pressed. Below 1 Ω
      R6-6 (TC) - R6-1 (E) Always 8 to 12 kΩ
      R6-6 (TC) - R6-5 (T) Rheostat knob is in the MAX. position. Approx. 0 Ω
      Rheostat knob is in the MIN. position. 10 kΩ or higher

      HINT:

      If the value is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat.
