Circuit Description

The power back door operates only when the power back door OFF switch is ON (switch pushed).
The power back door ECU controls the power back door, which activates the back door motor (built into the power back door drive unit) to open/close.
A request signal from the power back door opener/closer switch for power back door is input to the body ECU, which then sends this request signal using a BEAN line to the power back door ECU to open/close the power back door.
- When a request signal is output from the power back door opener/closer switch while the power back door is operating, the power back door reverses operation.
If the power back door is manually moved a specified distance when the back door is in the fully closed/open position, the power back door will be activated and continue to operate until it reaches the fully open/closed position.
A request signal from the back door opener switch (outside handle switch) is directly input to the power back door ECU.
- Pulling the outside handle switch when the back door is fully closed releases the latch of the closer and falls out of the fully-closed position and pops open slightly, which does not activate the power back door to open. (The power back door operation can be switched by customization.)
- When a request signal is output from the back door opener switch (outside handle switch) while the power back door is operating, the power back door reverses operation.
- When a request signal is output from the back door opener switch (outside handle switch) when the back door is in the fully open position, the power back door is activated to fully close. (Power back door operation can be switched by customization.)
A request signal from the power back door closer switch is directly input to the power back door ECU.
- Pressing the power back door closer switch when the back door is fully open or while it is opening switches power back door operation to closing operation.
When the touch sensor has an open/short-circuit, closing of the power back door is disabled.
When the shift lever is moved into any position except P while the power back door is opening, the power back door system turns OFF.
NOTE: The power back door ECU records the back door positions in the memory. In the case where any of the batteries, fuses, power back door ECU and power back door drive unit are removed and reinstalled, the power back door ECU loses the memory of the door positions. In such cases, resetting the power back door system is necessary. Please refer to the resetting operation specified in INITIALIZATION .
