  1. Connect the hand-held tester to the Controller Area Network Vehicle Interface Module (CAN VIM). Then connect the CAN VIM to the DLC3.
  2. Allow the engine to idle until ECT reaches 40°C (104°F).
  3. Allow the vehicle to run at 60 km/h (38 mph) or more for 3 minutes or more.
