Valve Body Assembly: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove drain plug with gasket and drain automatic transmission fluid.
  3. Remove oil pan. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
  4. Remove oil filter. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
  5. Remove solenoid valve wiring with ATF temperature sensor using the following steps:
    1. Disconnect ATF temperature sensor.
    2. Remove bolt and clamp. See Figure.
    3. Disconnect 7 connectors from solenoid valves.
  6. Remove valve body assembly using the following steps:
    1. Remove 20 bolts to remove valve body. See Figure.
    2. Remove check ball body and spring. See Figure.
    3. Remove 4 bolts and solenoid valves No. 1, 2, 3 and 4.
    4. Remove bolt, lock plate, and solenoid valve SLN.
    5. Remove 2 "O" rings from each solenoid valves No. 2 and 4.
    6. Remove bolt, lock plate and solenoid valves SLU and SLT. See Figure.
