- INSPECT FRONT WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the motor and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.
SWITCH POSITION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester connection Condition Specified condition 2 - Ground Always Continuity 11 -Ground Ignition switch LOCK or ACC No voltage 11 -Ground Ignition switch ON Battery positive voltage If circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.
- INSPECT FRONT WIPER INTERMITTENT OPERATION
- Turn the wiper switch to INT position.
- Turn the intermittent time control switch to FAST position.
- Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 16 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
- Connect the voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal 7 and the voltmeter negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check that the meter needle indicates battery voltage.
- After connecting terminal 16 to terminal 17, connect to terminal 2 to terminal 17, check the voltage rises from 0 volts to battery voltage within the times as shown in the table.

- Low Speed: INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR OPERATION
Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 5, and check that the motor operates at low speed.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.
- High speed: INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR OPERATION
Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 4 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 5, and check that the motor operates at high speed.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.
- Stopping at Stop Position: INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR OPERATION
- Operate the motor at low speed and stop the motor operation anywhere except at the stop position by disconnecting the battery positive (+) lead from terminal 1.
- Connect terminals 1 and 3.
- Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 5, and check that the motor stops running at the stop position after the motor operates again.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.
- Connector disconnected: INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the motor and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.
