Stabilizer Bar Front: Overhaul

HINT: COMPONENTS: See FRONT SUSPENSION
- REMOVE FRONT WHEELS
- REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSY LH
- Remove the 2 nuts and the front stabilizer link assy LH.
HINT: If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a hexagon (6 mm) wrench to hold the stud.
- REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSY RH
HINT: Remove the RH side by following the same procedures with the LH side.
- INSPECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSY LH
- As shown in Fig 2 , flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times, before installing the nut.
- Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously at a rate of 2 - 4 seconds per 1 turn and take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque: 2.0 N.m (20 kgf.cm, 18 in.lbf) or less
- Check for any cracks and grease leaks on the ball joint dust cover.
- REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET NO. 2 LH
- Remove the 2 bolts and front stabilizer bracket No. 2 LH.
- REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET NO. 1 RH
HINT: Remove the RH side by following the same procedures with the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR BUSH NO. 1
- Remove the 2 front stabilizer bar bush No. 1.
- REMOVE STABILIZER BAR FRONT
- INSTALL STABILIZER BAR FRONT
- INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR BUSH NO. 1
- Install the 2 front stabilizer bar bush No. 1.
HINT:
- Install the bushing to the inner side of the bushing stopper on the stabilizer bar.
- Install the stabilizer bush No. 1 as the protrusion to be on the inner side of the vehicle.
- INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET NO. 2 LH
- Install the front stabilizer bracket No. 2 LH with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 40 N.m (410 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf)
- Install the front stabilizer bracket No. 2 LH with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET NO. 1 RH
HINT: Install the RH side by following the same procedures with the LH side.
- INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSY LH
- Install the front stabilizer link assy LH with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 70 N.m (710 kgf.cm, 52 ft.lbf)
HINT: If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a hexagon (6 mm) wrench to hold the stud.
- Install the front stabilizer link assy LH with the 2 nuts.
- INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSY RH
HINT: Install the RH side by following the same procedures with the LH side.
- INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque: 112 N.m (1,140 kgf.cm, 83 ft.lbf)
