VVT Sensor (1GR-FE): Replacement

- DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (SEE COOLANT (1GR-FE) )
- REMOVE V-BANK COVER (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE NO.2 (SEE COOLANT (1GR-FE) )
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSY (SEE COOLANT (1GR-FE) )
- REMOVE VVT SENSOR
- RH bank side VVT sensor.
- Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.
- Remove the bolt and the VVT sensor.
- LH bank side VVT sensor.
- Disconnect the water by-pass hoses No.4 and No.5.
- Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.
- Remove the bolt and the VVT sensor.
- RH bank side VVT sensor.
- INSTALL VVT SENSOR
- LH bank side VVT sensor.
- Apply a light coat of engine oil to an O-ring of the VVT sensor.
- Install the VVT sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
- Connect the VVT sensor connector.
- Connect the water by-pass hoses No.4 and No.5.
- RH bank side VVT sensor.
- Apply a light coat of engine oil to an O-ring of the VVT sensor.
- Install the VVT sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
- Connect the VVT sensor connector.
- LH bank side VVT sensor.
- INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSY (SEE COOLANT (1GR-FE) )
- CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE NO.2 (SEE COOLANT (1GR-FE) )
- ADD ENGINE COOLANT (SEE COOLANT (1GR-FE) )
- CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS (SEE COOLING SYSTEM (1GR-FE) )
- INSTALL V-BANK COVER
- Install the V-bank cover with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)
- Install the V-bank cover with the 2 nuts.
