Inspection Procedure

NOTE: If not using the LEXUS hand-held tester, start the inspection from step  2.
  1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Figure. Check that the wiper motor can operate in an ACTIVE TEST. LOW and HIGH positions can be checked separately. Therefore, check a HIGH side when the HIGH does not operate properly and LOW side when the LOW does not operate properly. If the results are OK, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX (BODY NO. 3 CONTROL SYSTEM)  table. If the results are not good, go to the next step.
  2. Check the wiper motor. See appropriate WIPER/WASHER & HEADLIGHT CLEANER SYSTEMS article. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the wiper motor. See appropriate WIPER/WASHER & HEADLIGHT CLEANER SYSTEMS article.
  3. Check the wiring harness and connector between the wiper motor and passenger side junction block (body No. 3) ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If the results are OK, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX (BODY NO. 3 CONTROL SYSTEM)  table. If the results are not good, repair or replace the wiring harness or connector.
