Inspection Procedure

NOTE: If not using the LEXUS hand-held tester, start the inspection from step  2.
  1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Figure. Check the mirror retract switch using DATA LIST. If the results are OK, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX (BODY NO. 2 CONTROL SYSTEM)  table. If the results are not good, go to the next step.
  2. Check the mirror retract switch. See appropriate POWER & ELECTRO CHROMIC MIRRORS article. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the mirror retract switch. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article.
  3. Check the wiring harness and connector between the driver side junction block (body No. 2) ECU and mirror retract switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If the results are OK, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX (BODY NO. 2 CONTROL SYSTEM)  table. If the results are not good, repair or replace the wiring harness or connector.
