Igniter Signal Circuit
When Using Hand-Held Tester
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Figure. Turn the ignition switch ON and the hand-held tester main switch ON. Select the DATA LIST mode on the hand-held tester. When running the engine, check that the parameter value of Tachometer changes on the screen of the hand-held tester. If the revolutions displayed on the screen of the tester changes as the engine rotates. If the results are OK, replace the combination meter. See COMBINATION METER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the results are not good, go to the next step.
- Check the harness and connector between the combination meter and ECM. If the results are OK, check the igniter circuit. See DTC P1300: IGNITOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - IS300 article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If the results are not good, repair or replace the harness or connector.
When Not Using Hand-Held Tester
- See DTC P1300: IGNITOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - IS300 article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If the results are OK, replace the combination meter. See COMBINATION METER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the results are not good, go to the next step.
