Lower Control Arm: Removal
- Remove wheel hub ornament.
- Remove front wheel. Remove engine under cover. See Fig 1.
- Loosen bolts for lower control arm. DO NOT remove. See Fig 2.
- Remove bolt and nut. Disconnect shock absorber from shock absorber bracket. See Fig 3.
- Remove nut and disconnect height control sensor link from shock absorber bracket. See Fig 4.
- Remove bolt and nut and disconnect stabilizer link from stabilizer bar. See Fig 5.
- Remove bolts and steering rack housing bracket No. 2. See Fig 6.
- Remove bolts and separate steering gear assembly. See Fig 7.
- Remove cotter pin and nut. Using Special Tool (09628-62011), disconnect lower control arm from lower ball joint. See Figure.
- Remove bolt and shock absorber bracket from lower control arm assembly.
- Remove bolts and disconnect lower control arm assembly from suspension lower arm No. 2.
- Place matchmarks on camber adjusting cam and suspension crossmember. See Fig 8. Remove nut, camber adjust cam No. 2, camber adjust cam No. 1 and lower control arm assembly.
