Inspection Procedure

Disconnect the theft deterrent ECU connectors located behind the instrument panel. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Measure the voltage. Connect the positive (+) lead to connector T7 terminal No. 11 (TAIL) of the theft deterrent ECU connector and the negative (-) lead to body ground. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If the voltage is 10-14 volts, check and replace the theft deterrent ECU. If the voltage is not as specified, check and repair the harness and connector between the theft deterrent ECU and taillight control relay.
