Lower Control Arm: Removal
- Turn ignition off.
- Remove front wheel.
- Remove clip and nut from tie rod end. See Fig 1.
- Using Special Tool (09610-20012), disconnect tie rod end from lower ball joint. See Figure.
- Remove bolts and disconnect lower ball joint from steering knuckle.
- Remove clip and nut. Using Special Tool (09628-62011), disconnect lower ball joint from lower control arm. See Figure.
- On vehicles without electronic modulated air suspension, remove shock absorber. See SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING .
- On vehicles with electronic modulated air suspension, remove pneumatic cylinder. See PNEUMATIC CYLINDER .
- Place matchmarks on camber adjusting cam and suspension member. See Fig 2.
- Remove nut, bolt and lower control arm with bracket. See Fig 3.
- Remove adjusting cam bolt, nut, adjusting cam and lower control arm.
- Using Special Tool (09613-26010, 09950-00020, 09950-60010 - 09951-00650) and a press, remove bushing. See Fig 4. For Special Tool (09613-26010), use 2 thicker half-rings as a pair.
