On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT CONDENSER FAN OPERATION 

    Inspect the fan operation, as shown in the chart below.

    Test conditions:

    Engine coolant temperature "Below 82 °C (180 °F)"

    If operation is not as specified, proceed next inspection.

  2. INSPECT CONDENSER FAN MOTOR OPERATION 
    1. Remove air inlet duct.
    2. Disconnect the 2 connector.
    3. Connect battery and ammeter.
    4. Check that the fan rotates smoothly, and then check the reading on the ammeter.

    Specified Amount: 9.2-11.0 A at 20 °C (68°F) 

    If operation is not as specified, replace the fan motor.

  3. INSPECT COOLING FAN COMPUTER WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Remove air inlet duct.
    2. Disconnect the 2 connector.
    3. Inspect the connector on wire harness side.
    4. Measure voltage between terminals 1 and 3.

    Voltage: 9-14 V 

    If operation is not as specified, check the fuse, relay and wire harness.

    If operation is as specified, replace the cooling fan computer.
