Wheel Speed Sensor (Rear): Removal

  1. Remove rear wheel and wheel house liner.
  2. Pull the front portion of the rear seat cushion up and remove it. On vehicles with seat heater, disconnect the connector.
  3. Using a screwdriver, remove the rear seat belts from the belt guides.
  4. Remove the headrests.
  5. Remove the 4 bolts and 3 nuts and then raise the seatback assembly upward to remove the seatback assembly. On vehicles with seat heater, disconnect the connector.
  6. Disconnect the speed sensor connector and pull out the sensor wire harness with the grommet. See Fig 1.
  7. On the left wheel, remove the 2 clamp bolts holding the sensor harness from the toe control link and body. On the right wheel, disconnect the pad wear indicator connector assembly from the speed sensor.
  8. Remove the installation bolt and speed sensor from the axle carrier. See Fig 2.
