Inspection Procedure

NOTE: If using the hand-held tester, start the inspection from step  1 and if not using the hand-held tester, start from step  2.
  1. Check the mirror motor using the hand-held tester. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3. Check that the mirror motor can operate in an ACTIVE TEST. If the results are OK, check the appropriate door ECU (driver or passenger). See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If the results are not good, go to the next step.
  2. Check the mirror motor. See POWER MIRROR MOTOR (W/ DRIVING POSITION MEMORY)  or POWER MIRROR MOTOR (W/O DRIVING POSITION MEMORY)  under COMPONENT TESTS. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the mirror motor. See OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Check the wire harness and connector between the mirror motor and appropriate door ECU (driver or passenger). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If the results are OK, check the appropriate door ECU (driver or passenger). See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If the results are not good, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.
