Without Scan Tool
- Check that battery voltage is 10-14 volts with engine stopped.
- Turn ignition switch off. Connect LED and resistor in series between terminals TEM and CG of (DLC3). See Figure.
- Set each test item to condition 1. See Figure.
- Using special tool (09843-18040), jumper between terminals Ts and CG of (DLC3) (TEST mode). Keep LED connected. See Figure.
- Start engine. Change each test item to condition 2. See Figure. Check that LED lights for one second before it flashes. If condition is not changed DTC will flash. Do not turn off ignition switch as diagnosis code will be erased.
- Using special tool (09843-18040), jumper between terminals Tc and CG of (DLC3). Keep previous connections. See Figure.
- Read DTC output by flashing pattern on LED. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM . If any DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If DTC is not signaled, check the Tc terminal circuit. See TEST B: Tc TERMINAL CIRCUIT .
- Turn ignition switch off and disconnect special tools.
