Outside Molding: Replacement

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- When replacing the molding, heat the body and molding using a heat light.
Heating temperature:
HEATING TEMPERATURE

| Moulding | 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F) |
NOTE:
Do not heat the body and molding excessively.
- REMOVE OUTSIDE MOLDING
- Using a heat light heat the molding.
- Tie both piano wire ends to wooden block or similar object.
- Scrape the double-sided tape off by pulling the piano wire as shown in the illustration.
NOTE:- If reusing the molding, take care not to damage the molding.
- Do not damage the body.
- INSTALL OUTSIDE MOLDING
- Using a heat light, heat the body.
- Remove the protective tape from the body.
- Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
- Clean the molding (if reusing the molding).
- Using a heat light, heat the molding.
- Remove the double-sided tape from the molding.
- Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
- Apply new bouble-sided tape to the molding as shown in the illustration.
- Using a heat light, heat the body and molding.
- Remove the peeling paper from the face of the molding and attach the molding securely to the vehicle body.NOTE: Be careful that dirt or foreign objects do not stick to adhesive part when removing the peeling paper.
- Push the molding to the body.
NOTE: Do not apply excessive force onto the molding. Instead, apply steady pressure with your thumbs.
