With Hand-Held Tester
- Start the engine and check that ABS warning light flashes. If the ABS warning light does not flash, inspect the ABS warning light circuit and Ts circuit. See SYSTEM TESTS .
- Drive the vehicle straight forward and faster than 28 mph for several seconds.
- Stop the vehicle. Read the DTC by following prompts on the tester screen. Refer to the hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.
- Keep the vehicle in stationary condition on a flat place for one second or more.
- Keeping the vehicle in the stationary condition and the brake pedal in free condition for one second or more, continue to depress the brake pedal for one second or more.
- Keeping the vehicle in the stationary condition, depress the brake pedal quickly.
- Under the above mentioned condition, the ABS warning light illuminates for 3 seconds.
- Drive the vehicle straight forward and faster than 28 mph for several seconds. Check that the ABS warning light turns off.
- Stop the engine.
- Read the DTC by following the prompts on the tester screen. Refer to the hand-held tester operator's manual for further details. If any DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
NOTE:
If the vehicle has its wheels spin or its steering wheel moved from straight ahead, the sensor check will not complete.
