Without Hand-Held Tester

  1. Using special tool (09843-18040), jumper between terminals Tc and CG of DLC3. See Figure.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON. Read the DTC from the ABS warning light or VSC warning light flashing patterns on the combination meter. For the flashing patterns for normal and codes 11 and 21 see Fig 1.
  3. If any DTCs are stored in memory, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
  4. If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time the lowest numbered DTC will be displayed first.
  5. If no DTCs are retrieved, inspect the diagnostic circuit, ABS warning light circuit or VSC warning circuit. See SYSTEM TESTS .
