Knock Sensors
- Knock sensors No. 1 and 2 are located below intake manifold on cylinder block. See Fig 1. Remove intake manifolds for access to knock sensor. See KNOCK SENSOR under ENGINE SENSORS & SWITCHES in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article for removal of intake manifolds.
- Disconnect electrical connector at knock sensor. Using ohmmeter, check that no continuity exists between electrical terminal on knock sensor and body of knock sensor. Replace knock sensor if continuity exists.
