Test No. 7

  1. Check ECU-IG Fuse

Remove ECU-IG fuse from driver's side fuse/relay box. See Figure.
  2. Using ohmmeter, ensure continuity exists across fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, check for short circuit in wiring circuit to fuse and anti-theft system Electronic Control Unit (ECU). Anti-theft system ECU is located behind glove box and uses a 12-pin and a 22-pin harness connector. See Figure. Replace fuse and repair wiring as necessary.
  3. Check Voltage At Terminal IG At Anti-Theft System Electronic Control Unit (ECU)

Access anti-theft system ECU. Anti-theft system ECU is located behind glove box and uses a 12-pin and a 22-pin harness connector. See Figure.
  4. Make sure ignition is off. Disconnect harness connectors at anti-theft system ECU. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, check voltage between ground and terminal IG (Black/White wire). See Fig 1.
  5. If battery voltage exists, replace anti-theft system ECU. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM ECU  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If battery voltage does not exist, check for defective harness connectors and the Black/White wire between terminal No. 13 at 22-pin harness connector at anti-theft system ECU, changing to Sky Blue wire to ECU-IG fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If necessary to check ignition switch, see IGNITION SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS.
