Test No. 2
- Check DOME Fuse & POWER Fuse
Remove DOME and ECU-B fuse from driver's side fuse/relay box. See Figure. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, check for short circuit in wiring to appropriate fuse and anti-theft system Electronic Control Unit (ECU). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Anti-theft system ECU is located behind glove box. See Figure. Replace appropriate fuse and repair appropriate wiring as necessary.
- Check Voltage At Terminals +B1 & +B2 At Anti-Theft System ECU
Access anti-theft system ECU. Anti-theft system ECU is located behind glove box and uses a 12-pin and a 22-pin harness connector. See Figure.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect harness connectors at anti-theft system ECU. Measure voltage between terminal "E" (White/Black wire) and terminals +B1 (Violet wire) and +B2 (Black wire). See Fig 1.
- Battery voltage should exist. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists and anti-theft system still cannot be set, go to next test listed. See TROUBLE SHOOTING SYMPTOMS under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Check Ground Circuit Wiring
Check for defective harness connectors and damage to White/Black and Sky Blue wires between body ground and terminal "E" on anti-theft system ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If harness connectors and wiring are not damaged, and body ground is okay, go to next step. Repair any damage found in wiring or body ground as necessary.
- Check Power Circuit Wiring
Check for defective harness connectors and damage to wire that starts as a Black wire at fusible link block by battery, then changes to Green/Red at DOME fuse, then Sky Blue and finally Violet at terminal +B1 at anti-theft system ECU, or Sky Blue wire between ECU-B fuse and changes to Black at terminal +B2 at anti-theft system ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If harness connectors or wire are defective, repair as necessary.
