Maximum Cool Door Position Sensor

  1. Remove A/C-heater unit. See A/C-HEATER UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Unplug maximum cool door servomotor connector. Measure resistance between servomotor connector terminals No. 1 (Yellow/Green wire) and No. 3 (Blue/White wire for driver's side; Blue wire for passenger's side).
  2. If resistance is not 4700-7200 ohms, replace maximum cool door servomotor. If resistance is 4700-7200 ohms, using a fused jumper, apply battery voltage to servomotor connector terminal No. 5 (Blue/Green wire for driver's side; Light Green wire for passenger's side). See Figure or Figure . Connect terminal No. 4 (Violet/Yellow wire) to ground.
  3. As servomotor operates, observe ohmmeter. Transpose power leads, and observe ohmmeter. Resistance should be as specified for each door position. See MAXIMUM COOL DOOR POSITION SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS  table. If resistance is not as specified, replace maximum cool door servomotor.
MAXIMUM COOL DOOR POSITION SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS

Position (1) Ohms
Open (Max. Cool) 3760-5760
Closed (Max. Warm) 940-1440
(1) Resistance should gradually decrease as maximum cool door servomotor moves from cool to warm.
