Air Inlet Door Position Sensor

  1. Remove A/C-heater unit. See A/C-HEATER UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Unplug air inlet servomotor connector. Measure resistance between servomotor connector terminals No. 3 (Yellow/Green wire) and No. 5 (Blue wire).
  2. If resistance is not 4700-7200 ohms, replace air inlet servomotor. If resistance is as specified, using a fused jumper wire, apply battery voltage to air inlet servomotor connector terminal No. 1 (Pink/Black wire). Connect terminal No. 2 (Brown/Red wire) to ground.
  3. As servomotor operates, measure resistance. Transpose power leads, and again measure resistance. Resistance should be as specified for each door position. See AIR INLET DOOR POSITION SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS  table. If resistance is not as specified, replace air inlet door servomotor.
AIR INLET DOOR POSITION SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS

Inlet Door Position (1) Ohms
Recirculated Air 3760-5760
Fresh Air 940-1440
(1) Resistance should gradually decrease as air inlet door moves from recirculated air position to fresh air position.
