Circuit Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Lexus SC 400, 2000 Lexus SC 300, 2000 Lexus LS 400, 2000 Lexus GS 400, and 2000 Lexus GS 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

When brake pedal is depressed, stoplight switch completes circuit and battery voltage is sent to ECM. When ECM receives stoplight switch signal, ECM cancels cruise control. A second part of stoplight switch (circuit "2") is normally closed, allowing battery voltage to reach ECM. When brake pedal is depressed, switch opens circuit. If stoplight switch circuit "1" is open, ECM will sense a problem. Cruise control will be shut off and a DTC stored.
