Engine Oil Level Warning Switch

  1. Remove engine oil level switch. Switch is located at right front of oil pan. With switch sensor temperature at less than 104°F (40°C), check for continuity in each float position. Continuity should exist in all float positions.
  2. Heat switch to greater than 140°F (60°C) in an oil bath. Continuity should be present between switch terminals with float in up (ON) position. Continuity should not be present with float in down (OFF) position. If switch operation is not as specified, replace switch.
